Once again, we are drawn to the diverse country of China.

Inconceivable steppes, sandy deserts, wild mountains, and oases – and an opportunity not to be missed:
The province of Xinjiang – on the legendary Silk Road!

First, arrive properly

Our starting point is the beautiful city of Ürümqi. Upon arrival, we will pick you up from the airport and shuttle you to the hotel. In the evening, there will be a comprehensive tour briefing and a group dinner.

The next day, we take care of the “paperwork” in Ürümqi—for us Europeans, this means applying for and receiving a temporary driver's license. Of course, we don't miss the opportunity to visit the large bazaar in Ürümqi.

Departure

And then we're off! Awaiting us are the incredible steppes, extraordinary mountains, dreamlike sand deserts, and exciting Chinese infrastructure projects such as the Guozigou Bridge and the 100-Mile Gallery.

And, of course, we won't pass up the opportunity to drive on a Chinese highway—and not just any highway, but the Duku Highway: a scenic route along the Tianshan Mountains. Here, entire mountains were split open and, among other things, the highest bridge in the world was built. Certainly one of the most daring structures of our time.

Wild nature and culture side by side

Culture and culinary delights are not neglected either: for example, the ruins of Jiahoe, the burning mountains, and famous wine valleys.

Let's look forward to the Kumtag Desert—the only sand desert in the world that borders directly on a city.
The yardang landscape, the singing sand dunes, the crescent moon spring, and the Mogao Grottoes are further highlights.

Our route continues over the famous Jiayuguan Pass, the Matisis Grottoes, and the colorful mountains of Danxia.

We return to the Kumbum Monastery and Dongguan Mosque on the last day.
We'll bring it to a perfect close with a fantastic farewell dinner together.

The return flight will then depart from Xinjing on the last day.
